True Love
I'm guessing that this photo was taken around 1980, when my Aunt Luella and Uncle Pete lived in Florida. Uncle Pete was my Mom's older brother, 9th of ten siblings.
She adored him, but so did most everybody. Aunt Luella and Mom were best friends. Uncle Pete's real name was Irvine, but I called him Pete, and it stuck. He grew up to be a farmer and he and the beautiful Luella together, could do everything and anything. They lived on and ran the large home farm for many years, it was during that time that they sometimes cared for me.

Later on they left the farm to build a beautiful craftsman home in the woods of Frankton. It looked like a home straight out of Sunset magazine, back then. Later they bought a three story office building in town that they managed. They renovated the attic and turned it into a terrific penthouse that I would love to live in, still.
When I was in collage they often drove me back to Muncie on a Sunday evening, to save Aunt Martha the drive, as she had to teach the next day. And when I was to be married, and had an upcoming wedding shower, she took me to A&P Grocery store and filled two shopping carts with everything she said I would need to have a pantry to start married life and cooking.
When Aunt Luella was in her eighties, I would often sleep overnight on her couch, loving hearing all the stories of their life together. When we were newly weds and visiting their perfect home, we drooled, and wished we lived there. I remember Aunt Luella said, "don't be in a hurry. The time when you are getting to your goal are the best of times." Good advice and great memories.

Another wonderful memories of your lovely family. Growing up , at least for some years, with such good hearted aunts and uncles is a blessing. They'd be very proud of you, Jacki. You are a blessing to your family and your friends too.
Thank you, Jacki for being such a kind friend across the ocean.
Thank you, Elenor. Yes, I have been blessed in so many ways by such a good family. I worry that the family stories may be too much, but the memories are real. And some of the younger ones in the family are learning a little they might not know otherwise. My only remaining cousin, Nancy is just a few months older than I, and when we are gone out kids will be the seniors! Wow.
