Do you have favorite artist? I do, but I also have many. I fell in love with Sister Corita when I was in high school nearby to where she taught at Immaculate Heart. Her work, to me, outshined all others with joy, color, love and attitude. I went away to Indiana for college and took a bit of her with me. I continued to watch her work through the school library, as she became more and more popular and appreciated.

For the Update, I am drawing your attention to another favorite artist.  I met  Dosankodebbie) through Facebook. She is a passionate Etegami Artist & a Japanese-to-English translator living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.  Dosankodebbie sells her work through Etsy and REDBUBBLE, here. Being in Japan, you might not have seen her joyful take on life evident in her work. This one is mine ...

And, Debbie allowed me to use these ...

When I was teaching, I told my students that I believe art should be fun. When I still judge art shows and competitions, I can see who had fun during their process. When I do demos, they see me have fun with whatever mess I may make.
Can you see fun in both of these great artists?

Good morning Jacki,
And you definitely made mine better. There was NO PAPER this morning, so no Sudoku! When I have the time before duty calls, that and a cup of coffee start me off right. But everything about your blog today was fun: your art, Sister Mary Corrita, was always so wise. And my favorite of the other artist was about the owl who was full of mice. Got to love that. But when I watched the video, I totally laughed and had to show it to Stan, who also got a couple of laughs. SO thank you. After I walk Bentley and go over to be certain the day caretaker has showed up for my brother, I will actually get to go paint with friends. Have a good day yourself, my friend.
