"faces & no face": acrylic, graphite, junk mail collage, markers. |
Want music?
Getting back to teaching. Eastside art group has changed our meeting day to the second Tuesday of the month, and next Tuesday the 14th is my turn to present. I was late getting out the information & supply list to the members until today. I sent an e-mail with the above sample faces: 1. graphite & acrylics; 2. intentionally unfinished; 3. marker, collage & tissue; 4.Grocery bag, acrylics & collage. I thought some of you might be interested in what's involved? The upcoming February class at Art Supply Warehouse (mentioned below) is similar, but over four days.
I will give directions for four face projects,
(you can use any animal, still-life or whatever as your subject matter).
I have several quick warm-up steps to get you loosened up and unafraid to mess up. We will all mess up, but have fun and discover some good stuff in the process.
*If you're brave, I am hoping that you will make between 30 - 50 faces (or your subject) by the time you leave, they won't all be gems, but I'm betting that a
lot will be.
*If you have canvases, or wood, or anything you would like to use, please bring as many as you want. Or if you want to work in an old book. journal or special papers?
to bring if you can;
1 -2 glue sticks
1 disabled credit card
1 ruler /scissors
a few colors of acrylic
brushes big & small
ballpoint pen & some favorite markers
watercolors
a small squirt bottle of water
rag or paper towel & baby wipes
small jar fo water
1-2 brown bags, grocery bags, TJ paper bags work too.
apron/rubber gloves
I will bring:
samples
lots of substrates & papers for you to use.
junk mail & tissue paper for collage
brushes & roller
gesso
gel medium
oil markers
face photo file
some used canvases that you can gesso & use.
* My main goal for any class I teach = relaxed and fun,
art is the by-product.
