Day 1558: Of course they can fly, but jump???

"Frankie", ink, watercolor & tissue collage journal page, (work in progress)
Happy Halloween!

If you saw yesterday's post here, you know ...
while the Grandhunks, Laker & I were safe at the big house,
the Superheroes were off to jump out of a plane!

Off with Superman's little brother Jimmy & his wife Lauren

to celebrate her 40th birthday in style.
All will jump!

And, sign their life away.

Ready to go ...

Serious time ...
 going up!

What's going through your mind right about now?

Ready, set, fly!

That's Superman!

Then WonderWoman ...

flies high!

Meanwhile, back on earth ...
Grandhunks 2 & 3 & I ate at Kimmie's
our favorite place for a  great breakfast.

I'm sure Kimmie's looks forward to us coming in?
Zack (GH#3) and I went to see The Accountant.
We both liked it. In the theater foyer they had
this cut-out for another movie ...

you gotta love a 16 year old, 6'3" kid who ...
will pose in this for his Grandma! Right?
Every bit as good as jumping out of a plane!

A smile for Monday ...

Happy Halloween!

2 Grandhunks (#2 & #3), Laker & me.
And why?
Because Superman & WonderWoman

went to San Diego to ...

jump out of a plane!

By the way ...

Day 1556: End of this Round Robin exchange.

"roundrobin" journal exchange spread, ink, watercolor & collage

Just finished my last entry in the Round-Robin journal exchange.
I will mail it soon to Cherrill, it's actual owner, and ...
mine should be coming to me after a year.

step 1

Staring with the 11 x 8.5" heavy watercolor paper spread.
Some of the earlier spreads seeped through the spine, so ...

step 2

I started by sealing the spine, thinking I might do a face?

step 3

I love working with the paper shapes,
but seems like its going to go sideways?

step 4

I really liked this one, and would have stopped here ...
but it's not for me & I think Cherrill might like more.

step 5

Junk mail, watercolor and china marker ...

step 6

just playing with layers of watercolor & paper.

step 7

Layered a light area as a base for the hair.

step 8

She is starting to show where to put stuff.

step 9

Almost done.

step 10

Done.
I like her. I hope Cherrill will. Do you?

So grateful for your stopping by,
and wishing you a lovely weekend.

A smile for Saturday ...

Day 1555: Do you know Kim?

journal page with added junk mail & dry cleaner receipt

journal page with paint brush cleaning & a sketch start

The coolest thing just happened.
I link this blog on Facebook daily, here and
sometimes post on Gritty Jane's 40 Portraits group page here.
And, I got the coolest comment ever
from Ohio artist, Kim Poole.

So I messaged Kim & asked if I could share her
work & comments on this Day #1555 blog ...
she said yes!

"Yes, you can. I live I'm Cincinnati, Ohio.
I can't think of anything else to say.
I am a full time nanny now for
my 2 year old grandson, Dirk.
I make art whenever I have any spare time.
When he goes to pre-school,
I will be back to making art full time.
I have a little Jack Russel named Lily.
I love being in nature with her
every chance I get.
Can't think of anything else.
My daughter is out of town this week so
I am really busy with the boy.
Kim Poole

What talent!
And best part, she had fun!
Thank you Kim!
