Christmas and the holidays are synonymous with family.

The older I get the more I know, it's all about family.

So Christmas morning we gather ...missing Tarek in Hawaii

Lots of hugs ...

Laker's favorite time of the year.

All kinds of fashion statements ...

some had time for games.

Everyone ready for food ...

and the obligatory family group photo!

Day 1172: Digging out of a hole.

When in doubt about what to do, or just moving slow ...

I will do a step by step, some like that.

Still using up 50 year old mat-board from a masters presentation.

My Mom would be pleased, 

re-using something that would be thrown out.

When I have a heavy heart (which is not often),

... this helps. A lot.

6 magazine scraps, glue-stick, & a brayer = done.

On the back side is a strange image, 

a section from a 16 x 20" presentation ... can you find it?

Day 1008: Again, just under the wire.

Where did this month go?

Seems that's my question at the end of every month.

My 8" square artwork (with Turkish fold) is due to Irene.

We can do whatever we want.

I decided to do a collage form of a journal drawing.

journal sketch, ink brush

So a light sketch on the 8" square, already folded.

Adding torn paper ... deciding on the colors as I go.

A little acrylic just on the face, almost done.

 

Some red & black china marker & finished.

Making sure it still folds.

I used a Japanese print as my base paper,

which folds flat for mailing ...

in a matching envelope. My first attempt.

The other artists are light years ahead of me.

They do artwork on handmade envelopes!

I'm learning & am lucky they let me play at all.

Makes going to the mailbox fun!

Day 1007: Maybe an alias ... the artful dodger?

I can always think of something better to do.
