True Story

Tuesday, at our Eastside Art group, I mentioned this story, they thought it was funny and suggested I share it on the blog.

I had a second appointment with my elderly, grouchy doctor at Sand Canyon Hospital. Not a bad guy, a great doctor in his field. He just doesn't talk much and I had never seen him smile.

He had his nurse in with us and during the procedure, he said, "I think you have good jeans." I looked down and I was wearing jeans, so I thought, but did not say: "what's he doing looking at my jeans?" I looked at him and he looked at me, puzzled, then he actually broke into a smile! He said, "You 84 and you don't take medicine, I think you have good genes." Then he laughed, the nurse and I laughed too. I said, "Yes, I don't like medicine." He was still laughing when he left the room and after the nurse said, "I've never seen him laugh before, ever!"

A powerful example of how one young heart can make a difference.

Jacki, I had to smile at your grouchy doctor story. Your friends were right, it's worth sharing. And I admire that you need no medicine. Neither do I. I really do much to live healthy but I know one always needs a lot of luck to remain healthy. I'm sure you are as grateful as I'm for that.
The story about that sweet 11-year-old boy gives so much hope for our - at the moment so poor - world. Thank you for sharing, Jacki.
Jacki, I also enjoy the birdies on each blog, although I nearly never mention it.
You daily smiles make me often smile or/and give me something to think about. I love them.
Jacki, you see, I love your blog and all you posts. And now you nearly have done 5000 - just a few more days.
Happy weekend!

Thank you, Elenor, your kind words always bring mr cheer. Yes, # 5000 will be on Sunday, May 3rd! I have no idea what that blog will be, but then that's usually the case. ;o)
