Ballpoint on Newsprint

Wednesday, January 9, 2019

I worked on a spread in a little sketchbook.
Because the paper was thin, I added collage phone book pages
(hard to find now) to give it more weight and body to work on.

Using a Pentel Hybrid Technica o6 ballpoint pen,
(because some of you asked) I drew three quick faces,
and started collage.

Tearing colors from a catalog as my palette.

I hoped to blend the drawing with collage and
not lose either one?

I considered using Stabilo woodies for skin tone etc. but
there was something I liked about just the ballpoint & papers.
An unfinished or in progress look doesn't bother me.

This is where I stopped. I know I could add more ...
 but my eyes said stop.
It's not like digital, where I can undo if I go too far.

*Fewer bricks than a straight wall? Amazing?

Jacky, I love your step-by-step. You are right, there are now more phone books! One of the many changes we have seen for many years now. But at least that's just a small one. Maybe I can find one under the pile of paper I keep? The three faces are lovely. You turned them into three pretty young ladies, that's fantastic!
Have a good start into the new week.
Here it is so terribly cold and it will stay frosty all week. But today was a sunny day. It had snowed during night so the landscapes looked terrific in the sunshine.

Thank you, Elenor! As always you are so kind to comment. Comments are rare for me, I think Google makes it a bother to sign in? Google lets me know the numbers of views, so somebody is looking along with you. ;o) I don't do the blog for numbers, but I do love feedback. ;o)
