This postcard falls in the less category.
I did the umber w/c wash first, then the ink drawing.
The drawing didn't fit the background, but I liked it.
A dab of orange for cheeks and shadow ... done.
I do have a thing about cheeks.
Maybe because the nuns said rouge was evil.
What if staying warm was as simple as reaching for a hook on the street? In Belgium, rows of donated winter coats hang outside shops with a message that's changing lives. No questions asked. No forms to fill. Just grab one if you're cold. This is what happens when communities decide kindness doesn't need bureaucracy.
The view out of my studio window today. With all the recent rain, even the Rose Parade had rain for the first time in 20 years. I am usually complaining because we don't get much rain, it seems only fair to give thanks and praise our rain. The greens are all polished after the rain and the sky is so blue. The weather is 64' today which is cooler than usual for us, but again, y'all think we are weather wimps, right?
Tuesday's Smiles ...

How beautiful your view out of your studio window is, Jacki. It looks as if your studio is in an Italien garden. We are just watching a series about the most beautiful gardens of Italy. We spent quite some holidays in Italy, first with our boys and now only the two of us, so many good memories come to my mind.
Your postcard doesn't belong to the "less Category". It shows a wonderful sense of humor. The lady is smiling. I love it.
Thanks for this wonderful blog again, Jacki.
Thank you, Elenor. I am just now trying to post tomorrow's post and having trouble adding the graphic? My screen tells me "something is not working, but they're trying to fix it?" Ahh, the joys and pains of technology? Thanks again!
