Problem Solving with three pieces of paper?

I had an ink face that refused to work, so to find a solution?

So I covered the face section with one scrap of junk mail.

Step 1.

Then one more scrap, from a magazine.

Step 2.

The third junk mail scrap was the last of the collage.
