Awagami x Issey Miyake Exhibition
Awagami has again been honored to collaborate with Issey Miyake on a new collection of couture washi clothing. An exhibition celebrating the collection “On Kamiko” is now up at both Issey Miyake’s Tokyo & Osaka galleries. Accompanying the clothing are photographs printed on Awagami “Bizan” inkjet washi. New Natural Dyed Washi String
Washi string or "Kami-ito" (紙糸) is made by twisting thin strips of kozo washi into a thin cord. Used in Japan for centuries and wonderful for paper-lovers to use in their art, crafts, bookbinding, etc.. 5 naturally-dyed tones available in 20 meter spools. Product information, here.

Japanese papers are the best I can imagine. Making them into clothes is a unique tradition in Japan. And their natural dyed strings have the most beautiful colors.

Thanks Elenor, yes, I agree, that family has a wonderful tradition of fin paper and now the string looks terrific too? No I have never used their products, but have wanted to.
