Day 1469: Your mission, if you decide to accept it ...

"loco", junk mail collage
                                                                                        5

I love to do junk mail collages.
And the special thrill of using papers doomed for the trash.
In the process of moving in the new guy, MacPro laptop,
and still using my significant other, the elder statesman,
the 2006 top of the line, MacPro desktop & tower ...
my trusty Epson scanner is longer working.
The light's on, but nobody's home.
So, an excuse to set aside my planned work, and play ...

                                     1                                              2
                                     3                                            4

Your mission, if you decide to accept it ...
pick which of the 5 you prefer.
(5 is the original collage at top)
And, brownie points if you say why.
If you don't pick that means you don't like any
and that's okay too, it's not "rocket surgery".

Hey, thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Day 1251: More Chloe, by request!

same date, photo & junk mail digital collage

When mentioning that I would be
on Grandma duty the rest of 2015,

 friend/artist Marie said ... "I hope you ...
have great opportunities for photos of Chloe
(the big sweet dog).  I love your photos of her.
Her cute personality show through in your photos."

2 larger photos by WonderWoman

And so, wanting to please Marie,
and needing a blog for Day 1251, here's Chloe!

photos by WonderWoman

Chloe is Granddog #3,
a 2-1/2 year old American Bull Dog Diva.
She is proud of her love handles (pleural)
and uses the treadmill for naps.

The dogs are allowed on the couch only in the game room.
So this is my view, being the third lump on this couch.

I think her caption might read, "enough!"

Granddog #2, Laker, caption might read ...
"Chloe, Chloe, Chloe ..."

Day 895: Double dip ...

A trio of junk mail collages

I decided to double dip ...

Day 2 of an ART challenge,

Austrian artist Elenor Martin asked me to post 3 works

from my own projects each day for 5 days,

and to nominate another artist each day to do the same.

* My FB only allows me to post 1 image,

 so I combined  3 into 1 image.

Day 640: I am expecting company!

Soon!
He's coming from Florida!
He should be here soon.
I've never met him.
I've heard of him.
I have an image in my head, but it may be off?
They say he's on the the thin side, flexible even.
He wants to go and see it all
while here in Orange County, CA.
I will do my best to accommodate.
After all, I am hosting him as a favor for Gavin!

Gavin is family!
Anything for Gavin!
And my visitor Stanley?

I'll let you know how it goes.

today's collage ...
a combination of magazine & junk mail.

Day 16: Work to be done ...

Day 16:  Work to be done ...

Once in a while, I have a request, or a commissioned art work.  I am blessed with some kind, patient clients. Several years ago Jane bought "Violet" and took her home.

A year or two later, she bought "Sisters 2"
to take home and join "Violet".

Since then, Jane has asked for another "Sisters",
for her sister, and knowing it won't be the same.

I wanted to do a couple of versions for Jane to pick from.
My first attempt is "Drama Sisters".  I haven't shown this one yet,
as I want present a selection.  Yesterday I sketched a vintage version ...

It isn't finished, but I thought you might like to see it in progress?

I start with sewing pattern tissue and block  out my shapes.

Then I start to add in color.
It has advanced a little beyond this,
but I will save the updates for a future blog.

Did I mention that I am desperate for comments?

Day 8 : The Request

I have received a request!  Marilyn's husband, Mike, said I should post my photo of an old work shoe.  How he remembered it, I am not sure,  but I dug it out from May 2006.

This lone well-worn shoe was on the fence,
in the backyard, behind a featured 1930's home on a historic
home tour. Our town has an "Old Towne" section, where the houses are small and the lots are deep.  Lots of space.

I took a lot of photos that day. But, I find that I shot odd things. This shot from inside the home's only bathroom is one of my favorites. I am not sure why?

Marilyn gave me a blog lesson today, so I now know how to post a picture not in the center, and even to write beside it. Knowledge is wonderful. Thanks you for your patience, Marilyn.

     Any requests? Is anyone there?
