I had a lot of fun!

at the Huntington Beach Art League Holiday Meeting & Demo.

HBAL President/ Artist Gary Sohl welcomed the festive group!

My first job was to judge the art entries in 8 divisions ...
not an easy task! So much talent.
Jane Ice, HBAL Programs Chairman guided me through.

I had a small display of "goodies".

From a table on stage, I asked the crowd to wave. Some did.

With overhead projection, thanks to HBAL's Tony Podue,
I was able to work & talk, a lot!
Above I extolled the virtues of "junk mail!"

My goal was to select two or three brave souls
from the crowd to draw, water color & collage.
I chose Maggie, Kay & Floyd in the front row.

I warned them early on, I am neither a portraitist,
caricaturist or even a water-colorist.

But, they were very patient and kind.

At the end of the evening, it was time for the HBAL raffle.

One of the jobs of the demonstrator, is to donate art
for the HBAL scholarship raffle fund.
Carmen Leslie chose this 12 x 12" mixed-media canvas.

I missed Jeopardy, but it was worth it.

A smile for Friday ...
