I have always had a fascination for manhole covers. My first time in New York, WonderWoman said she had to run blockage as I wandered photographing so many covers, oblivious to street traffic. Then student & special friend Megan took wonderful photos for me in Japan. I collect more from all over the world. Today a few ...

Jacki, I think it's great to have such ordinary things like manhole covers made as little pieces of art. Ours are made without any phantasy, that's a pity. People should always be surrounded by beauty, I think that has some impact on their feelings.

Thanks Elenor, Yes, it is not unusual for things to be utilitarian, but an artists eye is usually looking for a better way, and like the manhole covers shown in those cities, once seen it would be hard to go back to the plain versions?
