An old, wonky Step-by-step from 2018
A journal spread on 8-1/2 x 11" heavy watercolor paper
to share another step-by-step.
step1 |
I started with acrylics spread on a celadon base.
step 2 |
Uncertain, I started adding black gesso in an irregular grid.
step 3 |
I started to see buildings so just went with it.
step 4 |
I wanted to add collage, just here and there.
I thought it was done, but ...
when I looked at it on screen ... not quite.
step 5 |
The addition is subtle, but I think necessary.
Doesn't look like anything would pass code?
But, I do like the colors. What do you think?
Yesterday was this Grandma's birthday, and I didn't take pictures, so I will use last years (2023) as I took photos of everything and will use it to inspire me to get back into picture-taking mode.
We have a tradition of calling and singing happy birthday on their day, to family. WW called and I was in the shower but she left a singing voicemail. She called again after church and I got a second singing. Then I got a text of Beatriz Helton also singing Happy Birthday so beautifully.
Grandhunk #2, aka Jake, sent me a text a few days ago ...
... and this morning, another text. At 10:30 Chris aka
GH#4 and Jake picked me up. Jake brought a dozen beautiful white roses. If you know me at all, you know I love the rain and today it is raining, was a gift!
This is what we saw on the way to ...
We had a reservation, thank goodness as there was a huge wait. They are well know for the best brunch! And, famous for their "Baby Dutch Boy" served with lemon curd, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, butter, syrup and lemons. If it look decadent, it is.
GH#2 ordered this for 3 of us to split, and we did.
He had us each order an entree from the menu.

Dear Jacki,
Happy Belated Birthday. You had so many comments yesterday that I decided to put mine in today. The way your family treats you is just a reflection of how you treat them. I can only hope that my grands who live close enough to really know how wonky I am, will treat me half as well. Of course I loved, loved, loved your step by step. I soooo miss those classes that you used to teach at Catalyst: great fun, great adventure, and the lunches afterward: well we certainly solved all the world's problems as I recall.
Have a great weekend. You rock!
: well we certainly solved all the world's probems there, as I recall
Note: The last line on the above comment was supposed to be erased: the trials of being blond!
You can do wrong, as far as I am concerned! Thank you for your kind words, they always help boost me on. Have a wonderful Holiday season and may 2025 be a healthy, happy fun year for you, your beautiful family, friends and admirers. I am an admirer,
Jacki, it's always a delight to see all family pics and feel the love you have for one another in your family.
Enjoy your weekend, Jacki!
Thank you Elenor, I am glad you enjoy the family pics, I think some might say too much? Happy Weekend! Please take good care.
