If you read yesterday's post here
you saw my bizarre photographic expedition?
You never can tell when one of those will take command.
And so now, for the beautiful Getty Museum ...

Really a perfect Getty day.
It was a partly overcast day, some blue sky but
not the intense sun on the granite walkways & buildings.

And, we came for the David Hockney exhibit, in particular.

Photography was not allowed in the exhibit,  but at the adjacent gift shop we
did get to see the famous ...
"David Hockney: A Bigger Book" a signed book printed in 2016 from an edition size of 9,000. The overall size is 28.25 x 20", chronology of  Hockney’s art with drawings, graphic work, portrait photos, and text based on the artist’s own writings and contemporary reviews.

The Bigger Book is presented on a Marc Newson bookstand.
The book when opened is 39.5 inches wide, when the tri-fold
is opened it measures at 58.5 inches.
The book itself weighs 65 pounds. It includes an easel stand,
white gloves and a set of axle wrenches to assemble the easel.

Our white gloved, kind & knowledgeable attendant turned the pages & made it a real treat. We saw a book being purchased!

We were allowed to photograph the book.

All in all, a great day at the Getty!

A smile for Tuesday ...
