Saturday morning I drove just seven miles from home to ...

I have driven by but never gone inside.
Today an extra incentive, a bonus ... family!

Maddie, her Mom, Lauren, and good friend Carissa.
They were volunteering at the ...

The nature center, opened summer of 1981, has exhibits,
displays & extensive information on the local habitat & fauna.

In east Orange, alongside Santiago Creek, the 1,269-acre
Santiago Oaks Regional park is a nature lover's paradise.
This secluded refuge offers hikers, bikers and equestrians
the natural charm of mountain vistas, an orange grove, a meandering creek & a mature forest of many different trees . Wildlife abounds & a series of interconnecting trails leads through shady groves and to a lookout that features an awe-inspiring view of Orange and the surrounding foothills.

Whether looking up or down, so much beauty.

I really enjoyed the serene beauty and uncrowded space.

Leaving the park through a tunnel of tree ...

but like MacArthur, I shall return.
