Day 1569: Friends with benefits?

work in progress, acrylics, ink,& collage

Honoring our Veterans ... 2016

A beautiful 87 degree November afternoon in Irvine, CA.

The second day working with Professor Maurer's
future art educators. Yesterday's class shown here.

We started with "stamp people" !

Students were given a postage stamp & 6x24" paper ...

and were asked to exaggerate proportions ...

vertical or horizontal ...

and to have fun.

Can you tell if they had fun?

Next, a series of drawing assignments ...

initially drawing a partner using non-dominant hand ...

and other rules & limitations ...

then using their choice of one of six faces...

to draw ...

and possibly add paper ...

for collage ...

Another really great group.

A fun 3-1/2 hour class, many works are in progress.

I was most pleased by their individuality.

Thank you Professor Maurer!

And Professor Maurer's 89 year old Artist/ Mother
who joined us & participated in the entire class!
Talk about inspiration!

A smile for Friday ...
