I don't remember playing with dolls as a child.
I don't know why.
Today I did, and had so much fun.
It was our Eastside meeting, and 7 out of 9 of us met at ...

Libby Williamson's Studio. LW Desgns in Orange, CA.

Prominent artist, Libby teaches art all over the country and on TV.

Today she taught us to make dolls, animals, monsters on canvas.

First with acrylics, then with free motion stitching.

We all started with a white denim weight canvas.

I drew a quick sketch on a paint paper plate for ideas.

I drew the sketch on canvas & picked acrylic colors.

I painted the front body and backside material with colors.
Sewn, stuffed with filler, trimmed and joined.

She is 9" x 34" and a little hard to photograph.

Above/Clockwise: Jody, Norma, Libby & Jeri

Norma had to leave early, so we missed her in this shot.
We also missed Erin and Sherrill who had to miss today.
We had a great day thanks to Libby's excellent teaching.

Thank you Libby!
