Paper Christmas Trees by Maho Motoyama

From single sheets of green paper, Los Angeles-based designer Maho Motoyama devises a veritable forest of Christmas tree-shaped boxes. Ranging from a few basic folds to elaborate, multifaceted constructions, each evergreen has a personality of its own based on its tiers and twists. Every one, of course, is topped with a bright yellow star.

Motoyama has built a following for his intricate box-folding templates, creating tiny, hollow structures in a wide range of geometric shapes. Through painstaking precision and a puzzle-like approach to creating unique pieces, form takes precedence over function. Find tutorials on YouTube, detailed templates on X, and more fun shapes on Instagram.

Day 4500! 12, 328 days ago, I started this silly blog, intending to post something every day, and I have, almost.  When I don't, some of you check on me. ;o)

I am currently in Henderson where th skies are so blue, the temperature is in the 60's, which thy tell me is 10' higher than usual. So a bit chilly, 2-3 sweatshirts, but the sun is hot!

Grand-dog, Zoey and I go outside and bake in the sun until for minutes until we start to fry, then we come back inside. That's about it for my exercise. I do tag along with WW when she has errands.

Last week WonderWoman, Cheryl, Carole and I had a birthday lunch at R&D Kitchen in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA.

I only took pictures of my sandwich, a Carnitas Sandwich, slow roasted pork, pepper jack cheese, coleslaw, on a homemade bun ...

So good, I probably haven't worked it off yet! We had reservations and got the back corner table, ww think it's the best. I was fascinated by the light above our table.

I didn't notice at first, I just liked the design, and the color.

Yes, bic pens!

Never know what you will see on this silly blog??

‘Cholitas Escaladoras’ Summiting Highest Peak in AmericasOriginally meant as a pejorative term, cholita has been embraced by Aymara and Quechua women, who have adopted the name as a signal of pride.

Photographer Todd Antony caught up with a group who call themselves the “Climbing Cholitas,” and a breathtaking series of images was born in Cholitas Escaladoras.
