Day 220: A survivor's meeting.

One week after ...

Demura Sensei and some of his senior students
met at Dave's house to discuss what can be done
to make this annual event even more successful.
Christie fed us gourmet lasagne, salad & garlic bread.
so if we look a little tired, it's really contentment.
Thank you Christie!

Dave, our tournament Director, was also in charge of ...
this meeting which had a three page agenda.
At one point Dave had a suggestion ...

Demura Sensei

and I caught Sensei's "look"!
It's fun, if it's not directed at you.

Dave, soft-spoken super hero.
In charge of charting over 500 competitors.
Calm, reliable, efficient and admired.

Leo and Thanh

Leo and wife, Susan (not shown) devoted,
and responsible for a myriad of jobs from ...
tournament communication, international co-ordination,
finance, record-keeping to t-shirts.

Roy, our tournament warrior.
Responsible for site procurement and management,
matt storage and set-up, plus assisting in
referee training and tournament control.

Thanh, director of kobudo and batto competition,
seminars, and supported every event.

I apologize for the above photo.
Jerry is a very handsome man.
But this does show how fast he can move.
Jerry expedites the tournament.
Responsible for getting all competitors to the right rings.

Byron (L)
Kevin (R)
two of
Demura Sensei's senior referees.

Our Inter-dojo tournament in November,
followed by the recent International Goodwill Tournament
requires great deal of planning and help in execution,
from so many black belts and dedicated students.

Arigato Demura Sensei.
And, thanks to all.
