| "Mo": junk mail collage. |
Update:
Months ago, I drew a sketch for a 14x14" wide canvas, as a commission.
Jane collects my work, and gives me free reign.

Today, I did this quick sketch on the back of an envelope.
I remember Jane saying her Mom wore big hats, so that came to mind. But when I looked at the sketch there was a lot of room on top of that hat. I decided there might be a cat laying on that hat? Why not?
From there I sketched with graphite on the newly gesso'd canvas.
I planned to use the same turquoise background. I use both tissue paper and junk mail to collage with. I will use bright colors and probably circles and dots.

When she is finally done, in collage, I will post Lulu and we'll see how close I came?

Mo is just great! She looks like she is full of life and lives it every day to its fullest. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, John, she was an easy one.
ReplyDeleteJacki, I hope you are better than the last smile suggests. I guess it is your shoulder?
ReplyDeleteThe idea with the cat is superb and also to show all the steps.
Wishing you that your shoulder lets you sleep tonight, dear Jacki.
That is really great, I enjoyed your step by step!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elenor, I am sleeping better lately,
ReplyDeleteI got my first vaccine shot today, so that's a help.
