2GN2S ...

The New Year, second chance

 I.

"10-year dreams. 5-minute actions.

Where do I want to be in 10 years?

What can I do in the next 5 minutes to contribute to that outcome.

II.

"Anyone can listen. All you have to do is stop talking.

But to be a good listener, you have to stop talking and be interested.

Genuine curiosity is the precursor to understanding, and a good listener helps the other person feel understood."

III.

"You can graduate with the finest degrees. You can read the most useful books. You can enjoy the loving support of family and friends.

But your degrees can't take action for you. Your books can't make the decision for you. Your family can't live your life for you.

There is no substitute for courage. At some point, you have to make the choice."

Mama duck hatches 10 ducklings at a Florida maternity ward

The mother duck, along with her ducklings, were gently ushered through the maternity ward.

This smart mama duck found herself at the right place when she delivered her babies in the labor & delivery atrium of Baptist Medical Center Beaches this week!  Mom and her 10 ducklings were safely escorted out of the building by staff.

The mother and her ducklings were safely escorted from the building by medical center staff, including a nurse manager and lactation consultant, according to a Facebook post from the hospital. The video shows several staff members gently using boards to guide the happy family out of the building.

The mother duck flew into the hospital’s enclosed courtyard, where she built her nest and laid her eggs, according to CNN affiliate Action News Jax. But once the ducklings hatched, the mother duck couldn’t fly out with them – so she had to be escorted through the labor and delivery unit, said Action News Jax.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Sunshine State is home to at least four different species of duck year-round.

This, for me, is a confusing time of year.

I get my days mixed up or interchanged.
Christmas is mostly over, some still to do.
It's the end of 2022 and 2023 just days away.
I read that I should take time to curl up and read.

I could. I have just finished a book (here) and two new waiting. But tonight I will put on the national dog show marathon. Comforting to watch the beautifully groomed breeds. But, I think they might have missed a good possibility ...
How about a rescued dog show as well, open to all.

2GN2S ...

I've been wondering? Do you eat anything special on New Years Day for any particular reason? Health, money or whatever? I seem to remember my family in Indiana having cabbage to bring money? Today I was watching the tv cooking show CHOPPED, and they mentioned black-eyed peas, which was new to me. I googled and found 12 Traditional New Year's Foods That Bring Good Luck in the Year Ahead:
  • Pork. (for inspiration?)
  • Black-Eyed Peas. ...
  • Greens. ...
  •   Grapes. (12 grapes, 1 for each month?)
  •   Noodles. ...
  • Lentils. ...
  •   Fish. ...
  • Pomegranates.
and what not to eat on New Years, here.  I am guessing different cultures and locations have different customs? What do you think/know?
I think it is so interesting, let me know?
