The day after Christmas, 49 years ago ...
Hoda married Mike Salloum.

Their three sons, two daughter-in laws and five grandchildren
love them endlessly for their guidance, sacrifice and
wisdom in making this family. And so they surprised
them Wednesday night with ...

Told only to dress warm, they were surprised with
a tour of Newport with their grown children.

Their eldest sons, Bassel and Tarek

and the younger, Jimmy ... plus the beautiful Lauren.

A beautiful thing to see, children who cherish their parents
and together, work hard thinking up new surprises.

A special evening to remember.

Meanwhile at the house on the hill ...

I came for a puppy update ...

Zoey, now 8 months & full of energy
has new toys is ready to play.

While Laker, now 7-1/2 years, slept, oblivious to Zoey's play.

We literally play tug and throw for 90 minutes straight.

Laker is still asleep and willingly misses all the excitement.
Eventually, about 7:45 pm, Zoey lays by me and goes to sleep.

Ahh, peace at the house on the hill ...
and to all a good night!
