I think working in a journal is great therapy.
And sometimes I am in need of therapy, how about you?

A glimpse at my desk show the chaos & fun ready to begin.
Today, I will work on a journal spread ...

1

Starting with tan tissue topped with orange acrylic.

2

Adding sewing pattern, scribbles & bits of collage.

3

Adding more stuff, maybe too much, but not "rocket surgery"!

4

Still playing.
The great thing about collage is you can
cover areas that you think aren't working and add whatever.

5

Taking it into Photoshop, I added Judi,
blocking some & letting some show through.
I am using an ancient version 10.0.1 of Photoshop CS3.

Have a great day wherever you are & whatever you are doing!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
I love that you visit & sometimes comment.

Day 2042: Another unverified theory.

every darn day: junk mail collage

Carol Mulvenon, a blogger that I greatly enjoy, recently
wrote that it had been four years since her Mom had passed.
 Four years! Already?
I felt attached to her Mom, Dottie, and miss her still.

This proves my theory that time goes faster as one gets older.
Do you remember when you were little and time literally
hung there as you waited for a special event to finally arrive?
And now I can't believe February has flown by.

1

Adding an acrylic journal sketch & polka dot paper collage.

2

I added color & layered earlier newsprint to show through.

3

Next I added ephemera and boosted the color levels.

4

Finally a slight color separation, adjustment and a line.

5

All done.
I used an ancient version 10.0.1 of Photoshop CS3.
And thank you for stopping by.

Baby it's cold inside! Yep, inside!

up 2 degrees from earlier

My heater isn't working, and I don't usually need it!
When complaining, Julie reminded me I could get a space heater.
Oh yeah, I think I have one in a box in the garage.

I did, like new, still in the wrapper, ready to save me.
Excuse gone, ready to get some work done.

A 6x6" artwork to mail to artist, Danielle in The Netherlands.
I started with a  6 x 6" photograph ...

I mounted it on heavy watercolor paper & turned it over to work ...

using cheap watercolors & junk mail for collage, I started.

A quick ink sketch & a quick attempt with watercolor.

Meanwhile the 2018 Winter Olympics from PyeongChang
kept me company, if not warm.

Background watercolor, and starting on collage for hair.

Subtle changes, fun to play and see what happens ...

I usually add a bit of collage to the background, I don't know why?

Maybe lipstick?

  Almost done.

Done. This one is Netherlands bound.

. . .

btw: the top blog art was digitally blended with this collage.
