How To Look At Art Like You Know What You're Doing!

by Maritsa Patrinos

1. Approach the art slowly.

2. Face it head on.

3. Strike a contemplative pose.

4. Don't take pictures, that's amateur hour.

5. Don't speak while looking at the art,

you want people to think you're concentrating hard.

6. Shift your weight routinely to let people know

you're getting comfy for a good long look.

7. Appear invested in the art by leaning in to the more intricate parts.

8. Squint your eyes.

9. Tilt your head.

10. Stand back and make brush stroke motions in the air

as if you are contemplating how you would paint this.

11. Unexpectedly sigh longingly or chuckle audibly

as if you've made some deep connection with the art.

12. After an appropriate amount of time has passed, nod approvingly.

13. You may now leave the art slowly.

14. Maintain one last long look as you go.

15. Move on to the next art.

Repeat until you've sufficiently looked at all the arts.
