Day 1648: Friday with WonderWoman - Part 2

(Part of) Mao by Warhol

As mentioned in Part 1 here, WonderWoman & I visited
Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach
on free Friday to see their new show ...
Pop Art Design.

Pop Art Design is the first comprehensive exhibition
showing the inspirations & cross-references
of art & design that still shape our society today.

It features a large number of important works by artists
including Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Roy Lichtenstein,
Ed Ruscha, and Richard Hamilton; combined with works by designers such as Charles Eames, George Nelson,
Achille Castiglioni, and Ettore Sottsass.

(yes, these chairs were actually mounted up on a wall)

The exhibition features approximately fifty works of art and
eighty design objects from international museums.

A splurge of our early life was this Knoll large table & 4 chairs ...

so WW grew up on these with charcoal fabric cushions.
OCMA exhibited the two chairs below, stirring memories.

WW sat down on the chair to make sure it swiveled.

One wall featured a line of 10 of Warhol's  Mao's ...

and I took some liberties, close-ups.

WW contemplating the foot?

I need to mention that I only photographed
my favorites, and that there are so many more
terrific pieces to enjoy if you get a chance to visit.

This exhibition runs through April 2, 2017
