Day 1373: Just a sliver of the Pacific, but ...

Renewal, acrylic, collage & graphite on canvas

Was able to get a Pacific check ...
(for Lynn in Colorado) on my way to Seal Beach.

Just a sliver of the Pacific, visible at left,
taken at a stop light, but that counts, right?

I went early, and ate at "The Hangout" ...

Good food and a view.

This was my view, looking out towards the Seal Beach Pier.

Then on to a demo for Leisure World Art League.

A great group of talented artists.
Thanks for inviting me, I had fun!

I will be demonstrating both days 12 - 5PM
See here for information.

Day 1372: I need a few more hands, more brain cells and hours in each day.

flowers, photo, collage & digital

How do you handle being too busy?
I try to remember Brian Andreas Storypeople.

But for me, I need a few more hands,
a lot more brain cells & extra hours in each day!

I am mentioning the Arts Alive celebration in Mission Viejo
as I am really hoping that some of you nearby might stop by?
It's a glorious event in a perfect setting ...
at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo

Featuring hands-on activities, live entertainment & much more.
 Arts and craft vendors boast handmade treasures;
street painters create life-size chalk pastel drawings, and
culinary delights are available to please any palate.
I will be demonstrating collage, mixed media, journals and ...
getting some work done over the two day event.

And promoting my upcoming Mission Viejo classes.

On Sunday I will help judge their famous street painting event.

Day 1371: Walking the Wetlands.

Beach, photo, collage & digital

Today I checked another blog adventure off my list.
Only 25 minutes away, but an hour drive in CA traffic,
artist/friend Marie drove us to Bolas Chica Wetlands Conservancy.

I have driven by it hundreds of times, each time
promising myself to someday stop and walk the trails.
Today was that day.

With 1,449 acres, the Bolsa Chica Wetlands is
the largest saltwater marsh between Monterey Bay
and the Tijuana River Estuary.

Since Bolsa Chica is home to rattlesnakes, black widows, coyotes,
and poison oak as well as many rare and endangered species ...

it is important that visitors stay on designated trails.

Over 5 miles of trails can be explored from sunrise to sunset.

Evidence of California's extreme drought.

Bolsa Chica is considered a salt marsh.

Year round, salt water enters the wetlands through
Anaheim Bay in Seal Beach as well as a tidal inlet
near the south end of the reserve.

Marie & me

We finished our adventure by crossing Pacific Coast Highway ...

and eating our lunch watching the Pacific!

Doesn't it look like a good day?
I was hoping you might like to tag along?
