Day 1301: Mail Art on Valentine's DAy!

22, collages & photo digitally layered

80 degrees, February 14, 2016, Westminster. CA

Sunday was the second class of the series ...

it featured Mail Art, where nine artists had seven options.
I call it a mail art buffet.
Artists see demos and samples of each project ...

collage papers, big envelopes, postcards, envelopes etc.

then pick the ones that appeal to them,
any or all, as many as they wish.
This approach usually makes for happy campers.
Now I am not a mail art expert,
but I am good friends with artists who are.

mail art from Jan, Connie, Val, Terry, Brandy & John

have kindly included me and ...
I am learning through their excellence.
I shared their beautiful work with the class.
An excellent documentary can be seen here.

So on a sunny Valentine's Day ...

samples, shipping tape, papers, acrylics & messy hands,
with acrylics, papers, markers, shipping tape,
all sizes of envelopes, cards & postcard substrates ...
we had fun playing for three hours.

Bill chose to make cards.
