DAY 1100: Keeps me off the streets!

vice, junk mail collages, digitally blended

When writing Day 1100 today,
I suddenly wondered ... isn't that over three years?
So I checked and Day 1095, last Sunday,
finished my third year of this daily blog.
I post a blog link daily on my FB page
and artist Glenn Cooper asked yesterday ...
what was the significance of "Day 1098" under my artwork?
I thanked him for his interest and explained ...
that I do a short daily blog,  my art, a blurb & a smile ...
and that it keeps me off the streets!

I do appreciate your taking time to stop by.
I like that you visit & sometimes comment.
I love hearing from you when you do.
Wishing you a great day.

Day 1099: "Yeah, but I look good!"

"What a deal", junk mail collage

I decided today's post will be the story that goes with...
today's FB Throwback Thursday ...

National Championships, 1984

In hot humid Richmond, West Virginia
for a tournament weekend,
Colin wore his Rip-Curl sweatshirt.
I asked if he wasn't too hot?
His answer ...
"Yeah, but I look good."

Day 1098: Work and a walk ...

Average, junk mail collage

Worked all day, after a morning walk.
I've been working on stamp people ...

not this one ...

... or these, but similar.
I can't show them until they are delivered.
So coming attractions will include step by steps,
since a few said they like seeing the process.
Stay tuned?

Day 1097: A word from our sponsor?

Isit, Citra-solv collage & digital collage. blended

If you have checked this blog lately,
you know that WW & I had a great week vacation.
So how did August get here so quick?
...
I am a bit tired, sluggish, moving too slow.
This body & brain need to be stretched
back into shape, so I am off to day class.
Two clients work to focus on, promised artwork and
5 upcoming classes to prepare to teach.
So, I need to get back on my imaginary bike and pedal!
Wish me luck?

Day 1096: How to spend a last day ...

Whitesun, photo & digital collage

Tuesday was our last day of this one week trip.
Packed and ready early for the evening flight ...

we picked flowers in Donna & Bob's backyard ...

and picked up Katha at her house.

Katha is our knowledgeable family historian.
We added flowers at the little country cemetery where ...

Grandma and Grandpa Beaty & family are buried.
Then on to the old home where my Mom ...
and some of her nine siblings were born.

We added flowers at Mt. Run Cemetery ...

Aunt Fern, Uncle Russell and Chuck
little Bella and Marcus,
are all out on this quiet hill in the country.

On to lunch at the Cobblestone Grill in Zionsville

a charming town for the first shopping in a week.
WonderWoman was ready to shop, big time!
And, before we started for the airport, a stop at ...

we sat on that front porch and enjoyed great ice cream.
Very possibly a new last day tradition?

Thank you to our Indiana family for a wonderful week!
We love you all!

Day 1095: A magical lake, really!

Storm@theLake, photo & i-pad collage

It is an idyllic setting.

view from the balcony

Cousin Martha and John have built a house of love.
Two story, three baths, five bedrooms ...
including a boys and girls dorm. (Planning!)
Designed for optimum use by family and friends.
Perched on a point of the Lake Shafer, Monticello, IN
and at the mouth of a quiet inlet, it's just perfect!

Speed boats, jet ski's, pontoons, aqua-floats,

jumbo dog, inner tubes and every kind of float ...

that can be pulled, gunned or balanced on.
Life vests, sunscreen & bug spray for every size.
And the food ... Oh my!
While dishes are being done, discussions for the next meal.
When I mentioned this phenomena,
Cousin Paula, from Florida, promptly replied ...
"You're in Indiana, girls!"
The kids decorated Brian's birthday cake ...

it seems 16 jr. chef's can decide what is needed ...
a chocolate iced M&M extravaganza!

...
In back of the cabin is a huge tree lined field for soccer,

tag and all kinds of creative games, ages 4 and up.

This is my view from the big hammock.
I liked it a lot and only fell out once.

On Saturday evening there was an approaching storm.
I tried to send it to needy California,
as Indiana has had so much rain ...
but seems like I have no authority here either.
