Day 462: Sometimes ... play!

Sometimes a girl just has to ... play!

Kind of like cooking,  you take a little of this ...

and some of ...

and you combine.
I call it play.
It goes on until I like the outcome,
or I grow weary.
Whatever, the process is the fun part.

And a smile for Thursday ...

Day 461: Clouds are good.

We had rain yesterday!
I was a happy camper.

So today we had clouds ...

clear blue skies and ...

big gorgeous clouds.

Time to get out the UGGS!

Day 460: Reorganizing or mail art?

For the past three days ... three days ...
I have been cleaning and reorganizing.
The goal, some elbow room to work!

But then I remembered ...

I owe Irene mail art!

I am long overdue.

But I couldn't decide.

She mentioned preferring rectangular.

So, one square for me.

Definitely preferable to cleaning!

Day 455: Not good at numbers?

I could have overlooked it.
Nobody would notice, or care.

junk mail, security envelope & glue stick

But I just realized I missed Day 455 ...
went straight from Day 454 to Day 456.

Why? I don't know?
But since I am on this quest to blog daily,
and I am doing that, I want it to be right.
Allow me to insert Day 455 today.
Maybe, I am not so good at numbers?
Among a few other things.

A smile for Monday ...

Day 459: A Dan Test!

A dan test ...
is when a student reaches a specific level of proficiency
and is invited to test for sho-dan, or first level of black belt.
I can only speak for Shito-Ryu Genbu-Kai , as
there are many styles of Japanese karate,
and differences in the requirements.

Years of training go into preparing for this day ...

Luke and Demura Sensei

13 year old Luke, the only junior to test for jr. sho-dan,

Day 458: Wow!

As mentioned ...I blog daily.
Today makes 458 days in a row.
Just random stuff, something seems to turn up.
But today was special and came from ...
our local O. C. Register newspaper.
Wow!

* I took special notice because two of my three
grandsons attend Orange Lutheran High School.
Columnist, David Whiting's article blew mw away.
So special, I wanted to share it.

* I called the Register, and asked if I would ...
be allowed to include the article in my blog?
After checking with her manager, a helpful lady
said that I could, but to show photo credits. Enjoy.

I apologize for the readability of some of the text,
but if you're still reading, I bet you don't mind?
This was so far superior to any blog I could write.
Thank you Jake Olson, David Whiting, OLHS and ...
the staff and management at the O.C. Register.
