Day 338: While at the fairgrounds ...

Yesterday's post was about OCF deliveries.

Today I would like to show you what I saw on my way.

They are busy at work for their opening in two weeks.

Some structures are permanent ...

ready to go.

Others are seasonal ...

so require assembly.

Are you getting in the mood for the Fair?

Day 336: How was your day?

Did anybody ask you?
If not, now they have.

This is my collage for today.
It looks like there is a message, but ...
I doubt it.

Day 334: Looks like I'll make it ...

... a year I mean.
334 days ago I set off to blog daily.
Nothing great or earth changing.
Just a random slice of whatever pops up each day.
Today it was day class with Demura Sensei,
and now a collage.

My collages are never meant to be read,
but you can try if you want to.
They are just design. Eye candy.
I try to stop when they feel right.
It pleases me to upcycle ...
using what would be thrown away.
My mother would like that,
she hated waste in any form.

Day 333: Digital doodling ...

Early morning mind exercises.

Up early, not 100%, but near enough?
I scanned some clips from the
vintage Whole Earth Catalog mentioned yesterday.

So with Photoshop and a playful spirit ...
I started to combine, overlay etc.

I saved some to share ...

I like parts.
But, feel some editing is in order ...

It's like that game, can you see what's gone?
It's not done, but it's getting closer.

Done.

Day 332 When I can't sleep ...

I woke at 3:30 AM.  I don't know why?
The harder I tried to go back to sleep ...
the more my mind raced. Finally,
I decided to put on my robe ...
(the plan - to eventually go back to bed )
but in the meantime ... work on a collage in my journal.

I have a couple of mass-sized catalogs from 1970.
Thin newsprint, with drawings, primitive photos,
how-to's, information galore and ...
the paper tears like a dream.

And so at 5:32 AM and I scanned it ...
in progress.  It isn't done.
It is next to this color page ...

So at present, they do not relate.
They don't have to.
But I think I may work on that.

Stay tuned?

Day 331: I have new neighbors ...

They moved in uninvited, but I like them a lot!

The little house has been empty for a very long time.

It's just outside my office window.

view from office

He/she sings like an angel in exchange for rent.

I am not a birder. I like birds, but I know very little.
My Aunt Vonda loved birds, so that was my intro.

I googled, but the closest I found was this yellow warbler?
But that's not right.

My new neighbors are the size of a hummingbird.
They are that fast, but not as jerky in their movements.
They seem to prefer elegant swoops.
One is pale yellowish green, the other pale brown.
If memory serves me, the female is brown.
Their beaks are longer than that warbler,
but maybe shorter than a hummingbird?

The tall pine trees have helped furnish their abode.

Also, they seems almost comfortable around me.
I can hear one sing as I write, it's just beautiful.

I have my camera ready to try to get a close-up,
but so far I have missed several opportunities.
They are quick and I am not.

Welcome neighbors!

Day 329: Hallelujah!

Yesterday I knew today would be better.

And it is.
Thanks to Mac tech, Damon!
So it's back to work.
And another journal spread ...

magazines, papers, glue-stick & china marker

And ... did I mention ...

I am after all a grateful, happy camper!

Day 328: More of the same, but different ...

Hectic times lately.
Mysterious Photoshop activity, tools on strike!
My i-photo has denied me access to my 19K photos.
But help is on the way, tomorrow.
In the meantime ...
my therapy is ...

a collage spread in my journal.

Day 327: Odds and ends ...

... from my journal.

Collage ...

Paint ...

and a little bit of  Photoshop.

Just having fun.
